Dionysis Kouris is a Greek photographer based in Athens. He holds a degree in Photography from the Arts University of Bournemouth, UK.
He worked for more than ten years as advertising photographer. After he took part in a workshop with Gary Knight from VII photo agency, his work shifted into social documentary. He completed a degree in Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication.
His diverse photography projects have been exhibited as exhibitions and screenings at festivals and galleries worldwide including the Format festival in Derby, the New York Photo Festival, the London Photo Festival, the Wandsworth Museum in London, the Delhi Photo Festival, the Poznan Biennale in Poland and the Kaunas Photo Festival.

His clients include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, Quartz – Atlantic media, Madame Figaro, Makeshift magazine, House & Garden magazine, Vogue, K magazine of Kathimerini, among others.

He has won various awards and nominations: PDN Photo annual 2011 and 2012, Emerging scholarship grant of Lucie Foundation and Photo Diploma Award in the Biennale of photography in Poznan, Poland among others.

Since 2008 his focus increasingly turned on areas of immigration and the consequences of the financial crisis in Europe.
His project Transit in Columbia, Athens has been selected from the Open Society Foundations for the Moving Walls 23 exhibition, scheduled for October 2015 in NY.
